Tips for a successful fitness class:

  • Please make sure you are medically cleared to exercise.
  • Please arrive 5 minutes early to meet the instructor.
  • Specialized Needs or limitations?  Let the instructor know before class.
  • Come dressed for activity.
  • No children under the age of 16 without a parent/guardian.
  • Have fun!

Weekly Fitness Class Descriptions

Beginning Tai Chi- Described as “meditation in motion,” this class is low-impact and ideal for improving balance, flexibility, relaxation, mental focus and overall well-being. Beginning Tai Chi is all-levels traditional yang-style practice goes through the 10-form practice each class. 

Class limit= 20 people Class Time- 60 minutes

Core & Flex Fitness Class- An all-levels fitness class that works your entire core! Core & Flex will incorporate mat work, exercise balls & light equipment, adding dynamic stretching to elongate your muscles and improve flexibility. Register for this class below, as space is limited. Please come dressed for activity.

Class limit= 12 people  Class Time- 45 minutes

Core Pilates- Practice classic Pilates movements to strengthen the powerhouse muscles of the core, abs, back and glutes. This class incorporates light weights for upper body training and bone strength and is suitable for all levels of experience.

Class Size= 14 people  Class Time- 60 minutes

Gentle Yoga- Looking for a yoga practice to help you slow down? Relax and refresh with Gentle Yoga at The Core. This low impact, all-levels yoga class will move you through various poses while focusing on breath, balance and bringing harmony back to your body.

Class limit= 15 people   Class Time- 60 minutes

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)- A low-impact, high-intensity cardio class designed to make you feel the burn! This interval style class is suitable for all levels, incorporating upper and lower body exercises to strengthen your muscles, get your heart rate up and work up a sweat!

Class limit= 12 people Class Time- 45 minutes

Intermediate Tai Chi- Described as “meditation in motion,” this class is low-impact and ideal for improving balance, flexibility, relaxation, mental focus and overall well-being. Intermediate Tai Chi is ideally for those with a regular Tai Chi practice or those that have frequently attended Beginning Tai Chi. This traditional yang-style practice goes through the 24-form practice each class. New to Tai Chi?  Check out the Beginning Tai Chi class!

Let's Get Lean Fitness Class- Join us at The Core for Let's Get Lean!  This all-levels fitness class borrows Ballet Barre techniques for a light weight, high rep total body workout guaranteed to leave your feeling toned and sculpted!

Class limit= 12 people  Class Time- 60 minutes

Postnatal Yoga- A once a month lighthearted and gentle postnatal yoga practice geared towards women at least 6-8 weeks after birth and beyond.  This class, led by Bonnie Golden, RYT, is designed to help mom regain strength and energy!  Attention to loosening back and shoulder tightness, posture and breathing for optimal healing, gentle strengthening of back and deep abdominal muscles as well as redefining your pelvic floor.

Class limit= 12 people  Class Time- 60 minutes

Prenatal Yoga- The Core is happy to offer Prenatal Yoga, a yoga series perfectly tailored for women at all stages of pregnancy. This class incorporates simple meditative practices of yoga, as well as physical postures to strengthen your legs, relax your shoulders, release lower back pain, strength your core, and bring balance to your pelvic floor.   Class offered as a series.

Class limit= 12 people  Class Time- 75 minutes

Mat Pilates- A mat-based workout designed to develop long, lean muscles, gain core strength and stability, and increase mind-body awareness.  Props and small weights used.

Class limit= 14 people Class Time- 60 minutes

Strength & Balance Fitness Class
A total body workout focused on core stabilization, improved balance & training muscles for more intense weight loading exercises in a circuit-style format. Incorporating upper and lower body strength training moves with light equipment, this class is great for anyone looking to cross-train, add strength training to your exercise regimen or jump start a fitness routine. Register for this class below, as space is limited. Please come dressed for activity.

Please Note: Participants should be able to move up and down from the floor without assistance. This class is not for severe balance issues.

Class limit = 12 people  Class Time- 45 minutes

Yoga Foundations Iyengar Method-Yoga Foundations Iyengar Method will focus on perfecting the alignment and posture of yoga poses. Incorporating a variety of props, you will be given detailed guidance on how to perfect each pose. Yoga Basics is a unique class that encourages dialogue and questions to better your understanding and improve your practice.  Yoga experience is recommended.

Class limit = 14 people  Class Time- 75 minutes

Zumba Fitness!- Join us for an all-levels Zumba fitness dance class! Get your heart pumping and your feet moving with this high-energy, Latin inspired dance class. Get your body moving, break a sweat and have fun!

Class limit= 17 people  Class Time- 50 minutes
